On Friday, July 26, Kalkaska Conservation District will be canoeing the Upper Manistee River. They will ID trees & plants, look for wildlife, use teamwork to navigate the river, and practice mindfulness as a coping mechanism to handle everyday stressors.

Transportation is provided from the downtown Kalkaska municipal lot (Walnut & Third St) to Shel-Haven Canoe Livery. Lunch, canoes, and life jackets are also provided.

This event is for children 10 and up, but children under 10 are welcome if a parent or guardian attends.

Drop-off is at the municipal lot at 9:00 am. The bus will leave the lot by 9:10. Pick-up is at the municipal lot at 2:00 pm.

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing. We recommend bringing your own water bottle, but we will also have water available. This event will take place rain or shine. In the event of severe inclement weather, we will reschedule.

RSVPs are REQUIRED by Monday, July 22, and can be done by filling out this Google Form.
